Vaporware at this point.
This used to be the best of the best. Not only was it a brilliant recipe manager, but it was actually somehow, fun to use! The developer kept in contact with customers, kept updates steady on Twitter and his website. But somewhere along the way, he lost his way. Things seemed hopeful with the iOS version update, and it seemed like we’d finally have the ability to painlessly sync our iOS devices with our Mac version, with the Mac version update on the horizon. “Very near release” in October last year. But it’s now been since October since the last time he really updated us on the status, and since mid January since he has answered any customer questions on his page (and even then he was vague and very careful to not be specific).
We’re now stuck with a beautiful iOS app, that is effectively useless with a seemingly dead OSX version to work with it. Personally, we’ve moved on to the alternative. At least that one is updated regularly, and even when it’s between updates, customers are kept in the loop about when to expect things, and what’s being done. Top tip - In the future, if you want to keep customers, even if you need them to wait this absurd length of time, keep in touch with them. Regularly. Bi-weekly at very least frequent, and as often as possible on the other end of the spectrum. The way you’re doing things here makes people completely uninterested in version 3 if and when it ever comes out. No one wants to pay money for an app by a dev that doesn’t know how public relations works, or how to get their work done on the product. Especially when the app costs more than 99 cents, let alone 15 dollars. If it takes this long to go from “very near release” to released, I shudder to think how long we’ll wait on bug fixes or version 4 with the new iOS and OSX versions coming out later this year. Get on the ball.
