YummySoup! App Reviews

awesomeness!

I really like the idea of this app - I love to cook and i have a lot of recipes ripped out of newspapers and magazines that bandly need sorting! With this neat app I can categorize, add a picture, import my fav recipes from other cooking and recipe websites into premade, really nice looking templates. You can share your recipes with friends or even print them to store them in your "recipe folder" on your shelf and give them the cookbook look :) ! im looking forward to more updates soon (maybe adding German to the languages), some more templates (hopefully there will be some more "clean" and "simple" themes, or cute looking ones, ...) and maybe an editor to format the text of the recipe while typing it in the recipe box and adding more photos directly. anyways - 4.5 stars for an awesome idea great design!

good (:

i love the app... but add German D: the english pronunciation with german words is funny XD // but why is this app released from 17 years? xD i see nothing that is bad :D sry for my bad english...

Web import very buggy

Although the program idea seems to be fairly sensible, the conversion to a Mac App has been rushed and there are still an awful lot of bugs. In particular the web import, both from listed sites and manually, has a number of problems which need to be fixed. When you import, you see the recipe transferred, but as soon as you click save, the recipe disappears. In YummySoup the recipe is then empty. If you restart YummySoup, then the recipe reappears, but at a random position in your library - a Jamie Oliver lamb recipe was listed under vegetarian, for example. Could be a useful program when the bugs are fixed, otherwise I will think about asking for a refund.

great program - but German language is missing!

The program itself is great - 5 stars when supporting German language Other suggestions: - HTML Export - no crashes anymore - in the selection field cuisine is missing a lot, for example: French, Thai, German, Spanish and so on. - selection fields time - whats with 5min? - I would like to present my other images of an recipe larger If you revised this issues then you get 5 Stars from me.

Nice App.

Add German language, please!

Missing German Translation

The App itself is good to capture your own recipes or your favourite recipes from your favourite recipes website (that works really good!). Grouping and tagging is excellent and theres also an option to recalculate recipes from e.g. 2 servings to 4 servings. But there are also some drawbacks: 1. No german translation (Im willing to volunteer, if help is needed) 2. No ability to enter costs per recipe (Kings Class: Ingredients database with costs attached so that the app can automatically calculate costs) 3. Where the heck is the "Print Shopping List"-Feature? 5 Stars if 1 and 2 comes as an update! Everything else seems to be perfect for me.

Best recipe manager

Really nice application. It would be perfect if there was a german translation.

Crash prone and lacking in support

YS! isn’t a bad recipe app. Its interface is clean, its recipe view is great as it can support multiple photos including allowing them to be embedded in the steps, and finally you can have nested groups (Categories) Despite that I have long since abandoned the app in favour of another recipe app. Why? 1) Lack of updates: The last update was in 2011, the app is prone to crashing for instance when editing a recipe and hasn’t be updated to take advantage of any new features of Mountain Lion or Mavericks 2) No iCloud Syncing: Trying to sync with the iOS companion app has to be done manually via the iTunes rather than using iCloud syncing. I spend most of my time using my iPad and not my Mac however I want the ease of getting data back onto the Mac, and vice versa. (Note, when the iOS version had its major overhaul in Mar 2013 it was promised that iCloud syncing was coming soon to the Mac version) 3) Groceries: While it supports the concept of groceries, the interface isn’t particularly helpful and again you want it to easily sync to the iOS device (namely my phone) so I can check things off as I’m shopping.

Incredible!

Where have you been all my life?! I have been looking for a recipe organizer program for years and Yummy Soup has everything Ive ever wanted. So easy, so beautiful, and so great. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Very Good, Looking forward to Updates

The import tool works really well and the templates are nice. I didnt like the preloaded recipes, so I had to delete them. I look forward to seeing how this app evolves, Im glad I have an easy place to put my recipes finally.

Amazing!

Ive been trying to find a good recipe organizer, and this has everything Ive been looking for. Easy to import recipes from the web or input your own. Nice themes and great organizational tool overall. A must-buy for foodies!

So good I bought it twice!

My wife and I have been using YummySoup for a few years now and we could not be much happier — well except if there was an iOS app in the works ;)

Very good app

Very good app, been looking around for the last 3 to 4 years for an app that works like this. easy to use interface, easy to share recipes with friends and family, easy to tag keywords and file systems is great. hopefully we will get a ipad sync version and a way so send a shopping list to an Iphone.

yummy soup

I just purchased yummy soup and I was disappointed in 2 ways: 1. NO nutritional info eg. calories, sodium etc on recipes included in the app. 2. Not very many recipes especially in soup category. I expected an app called yummy "soup" wld have lots of soup recipes. That said the format is user friendly.

Great Idea

I have been looking for a good recipe organizer, this program seems good, easy to import recipes from web and email to other. However having some problems figuring out how to put foods into groups.

A Pleasure to work with.

Hats off to the developer - have already added 50 recipes and it is so user friendly. Very elegant presentation for recipes.

Fantastic App!

Very pleased with this App. I easily converted all my recipes from the Martha Stewart website with just a click. I have organized the catergories to my preferences. I had a question for support for Yummysoup!, sent them an email and got a responce within a day. Really worth the little amout of money. I recently purchased The Recipe Manager and what a waist of time and money. Not have as convient as Yummysoup! I wish I knew about Yummysoup before. Satisfied customer

Love it

Finally a recipe organizer that is practical with nice templates. Recipes are easy to import from the web and it is easy to input our own. Cant wait to see the App for iPad, hopefully it will be able to synchronize with the one on my computer.

Is the best thing out there...believe me I have looked everywhere!!!

Can not believe I have been living without this app! I have profiles on 12 different websites for recipies and it was a complete nightmare doing my weekly meal plan!! This app has literally changed my life!! Everything in one place I can see all my recipies I added all of my own recipies and it was super simple!! Only thing that will make my life complete with this app is to have a grocery shopping list that I could just click ingredients that I need right from the recipie!! Great work on this app and I cant wait for the iPhone app! Oh and any questions get answered ASAP which is awesome!

Disappointed with the stability re: recipecasts

I really like the concept of this app, and think its great to use. However, I have consistent problems with the program unexpectedly closing whenever I try to use the recipecast feature. Its pretty annoying as it must have happened 5 times this evening alone. And when I open the program again, all of the recipes that I have "saved" from the individual recipecasts are gone - with the exception of the recipes pre-loaded with the program. With a fix for this problem, this would be a 5 star program.
